Very soon, we will be going to the offices of a major developer of security products. They develop and sell all the types of security products you can think of: from standard antivirus and security suites for consumers to security products for servers and enterprises. We will spend a few hours in their offices, discuss with some of their top experts about the process involved in creating a security product, detecting viruses and updating their database of malware, etc. We would like you to share some questions you would like answered during our visit. What would you like to know about how security products are developed and maintained?

1) Firstly, How possibly could they collect new malware sources

2) How did they determine the code of virus( just like kaspersky did in recent release about a malware in unknown language). I dont think its easy to get code from .dll or .exe

How can heuristics possibly work to counter undocumented threats?

There must be more to it than just checking whether the file name has crack/patch/keygen etc. keywords.
