While I like the modern interface in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, there is one thing I definitely do not like about it: you cannot create any desktop shortcuts to different apps and configuration panels, including the new PC Settings. That’s why I decided to create my own special shortcut, which involved a bit of custom scripting.
The Desktop Shortcut to PC Settings
Download the archive at the end of this article and extract it. Inside you will find the PC Settings.exe file. Copy it to the Desktop or any other location you see fit.
A double click or a tap on it will launch PC Settings.
