On January 6th, we celebrated our 2.5 years anniversay together with Symantec together with it. They decided to sponsor us with 5 one year licenses for Norton Internet Security 2012, each valid for up to 3 computers. Today it is time to announce the lucky winners. Read on to find out if you are one of them.

The Procedure

We asked our readers to subscribe to our e-mail newsletters (the daily newsletter or the weekly newsletter, depending on their preference) or to our RSS feed. We exported the list of subscribers from both newsletters to Microsoft Excel, extracted the list of people who sent their proof of subscription to our RSS feed. Then we identified the duplicate subscribers.

We ended up with 880 unique entries - all having chances to win one of the prizes.

Then, we asked Microsoft Excel to assign a number to each entry in the giveaway and used Random.org to generate the random numbers of the five lucky winners, plus five backup winners, in case some of them do not reply or are not interested in the prize.

They will be contacted shortly via e-mail, so that they receive their prizes. If any of them doesn’t answer within a week or is not interested in the prize, the prizes will be automatically given to the backup winners.
